1 Corinthians 9:16-17

THE INWARD LIFE OF A STEWARD
Motivation

For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for I am under compulsion; for woe is me if I do not preach the gospel. For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me.

Paul transparently shares in I Corinthians 9:16-17, For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for I am under compulsion; for woe is me if I do not preach the gospel. For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me (NASB 1995). Paul admits that he feels compelled to share the gospel whether he wants to or not (whether he feels like it or not) or whether it is dangerous or not. For believers, sharing the good news of Jesus is not optional. God has entrusted us to spread the gospel; and of all that we have been called to steward, sharing the gospel with the world should be our highest priority. How are you doing sharing the good news? Think about it.
