I can do nothing on my own….because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.
Who is our role model in how to live the Christian life? Jesus, right? Do you realize that when you chose to follow Jesus, His will became the only will that matters? Once you accepted Christ, your will on anything became, frankly, irrelevant! Listen to what our role model said about His will in John 5:30, I can do nothing on my own….because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me (RSV). Doesn’t it make sense that if Jesus willingly subordinated His will to the will of His Father that we should likewise abandon our own will to follow the will of our Father? If we want to live like Jesus, we need to willingly accept His agenda in place of our own personal agenda—everyday! Think about it.
