Acts 2:44-45

THE OUTWARD LIFE OF A STEWARD
Giving

And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.

Luke reports in Acts 2:44-45, And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need (NASB). This passage gives us a glimpse into the radical way in which early believers demonstrated their “all in” commitment to one another and to the church’s commission to make disciples. What was it that made these believers (who enjoyed a material surplus) to be so willing to liquidate that surplus and use the proceeds to help meet the needs of other believers who had a shortfall? What do you think it would it take for believers today to start voluntarily liquidating their surplus so as to share it with others who have needs? Think about it.
