Hebrews 12:2

THE OUTWARD LIFE OF A STEWARD
Staying on Course

Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross…

Hebrews 12:2 says we should be Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross (NASB1995). The best way to walk a straight line is to fix your eyes on some distant object and walk toward it. If you try to walk a straight line by looking down at your feet, putting one foot in front of the other, you are going to find your line is anything but straight. Hebrews tells us that the “object” we need to fix our eyes upon is Jesus. If we do not want to wander off course, or even worse, get lost, we need to keep our focus on Christ. Then, the straightness of the line of our lives will take care of itself. Think about it.
