Philippians 3:18-19

THE INWARD LIFE OF A STEWARD
Spiritual Drift

For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things.

Paul gives us a heart-wrenching observation of the majority of those with whom we share this planet. He painfully observes in Philippians 3:18-19, For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things (NASB1995). I think it would be good for us to periodically examine ourselves using this descriptive list of unbelievers, to see if we might be experiencing spiritual “drift.” When the world and the Kingdom start looking, talking, and acting similar, we should not conclude that the world is becoming spiritual, but that the church is becoming more secular. Think about it.
