1 Corinthians 4:1-2

THE INWARD LIFE OF A STEWARD
Understanding Ownership

It is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.

Paul says in 1 Corinthians 4:1-2, It is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy (NASB). God owns everything that exists and we are merely stewards or managers of our Father’s property. The one question we all should be regularly asking is, “How carefully, effectively, and obediently am I managing what God has entrusted to me?” Are we earnestly seeking His guidance and His input regarding how we consume, invest, and give the resources He has entrusted to us? Or do we treat what we have like it is ours and we are in charge of what to do with it? One clear mark of a trustworthy steward is that he is continually consulting the Owner to ensure that His will remains at the center of how His assets are being managed. Think about it.
