1 Thessalonians 2:4

THE OUTWARD LIFE OF A STEWARD
Handling the Gospel

But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak…

In First Thessalonians 2:4 Paul gives us another insight into a critical matter we are to be stewarding for our Owner. He tells us, “But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak… (NASB).” Here, Paul is reminding us of what ought to be obvious to all of us. First, the gospel message is God’s good news, not ours. And second, God, for some mysterious reason, has chosen to entrust to His followers with the proclamation of this eternity-changing good news to a world that is lost and floundering in darkness and rebellion. Of all that God has entrusted us to steward, the gospel without question has the greatest eternal importance. Sharing this good news with others must become part of our day-to-day stewardship responsibilities. Think about it.
