1 Timothy 6:7

THE INWARD LIFE OF A STEWARD
Viewing and Handling Possessions

For we have brought nothing into this world, so we cannot take anything out of it, either.

Paul reminds us of an important fact of life in 1 Timothy 6:7. He says, For we have brought nothing into this world, so we cannot take anything out of it, either (NASB). I once saw a bumper sticker that read, “He who dies with the most toys, wins!” I thought that is exactly how the world thinks about the purpose of life. However, what seems to have escaped their notice is that, “He who dies with the most toys, still dies.” And then what? John Ortberg reminds us that even if we win a Monopoly game and accumulate all the properties and all the money, when the game is over, it all goes back in the box for someone else to play with on another day. All that work for nothing? Think about it.
