1 Timothy 6:6

THE INWARD LIFE OF A STEWARD
Finding Contentment

But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment.

Paul shares two key ingredients needed for us to achieve a significant breakthrough in our spiritual lives. In I Timothy 6:6 he tells us, But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment (NASB). The key words here are godliness, meaning possessing a God-like character, and contentment, meaning being pleased with what you have. Either of these qualities alone are greatly beneficial to our spiritual lives, but when our pursuit of godliness is accompanied by an attitude of contentment, we break through a number of spiritual barriers that routinely prevent many believers from ever reaching the level of spiritual maturity God desires for us. So, how passionate are you for gaining godliness, and how content are you with what you have? Think about it.
