Proverbs 23:7 / Philippians 4:8

THE INWARD LIFE OF A STEWARD
Controlling Thoughts

For as he thinks within himself, so he is.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

Asking, what’s on your mind is a critically important spiritual question to ask. Because if we want to succeed in how we live, we must succeed in how we think. Why? Proverbs 23:7 tells us, For as he thinks within himself, so he is (NASB1995). You become what you think about. How then can we control our thought life? Paul gives us clear guidance in Philippians 4:8. He tells us, Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things (NASB1995). If we focus our thinking on these things, and reject negative, selfish, sensual, and unholy thoughts, we will find ourselves living a richer, fuller, and happier life. Think about it.
