Titus 2:13-14

THE OUTWARD LIFE OF A STEWARD
Giving

Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

Titus says in 2:13-14, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds (NASB). This passage gives us a unique insight into one reason why Jesus gave Himself for us to redeem us and to purify us. It says, so we will be “zealous for good deeds.” Have you ever really thought that one of the primary characteristics of a redeemed and purified child is to not just be casually or occasionally interested in doing good deeds, but to be ZEALOUS for, passionate about, and driven by doing good deeds for others. This is the mark of how a steward should manage his possessions. Does “zealous” describe your attitude about doing good for others? Think about it.
